Why England 7s Rugby Stars pick Gilbert Boots
James Rodwell is one of the key rugby stars from Team GB – Team England – England Rugby.
He’s part of the squad which achieved a Silver Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and has participated in 79 World Rugby Seven Series tournaments. James is the record holder for the Most Consecutive 7s Tournaments played.
The England Star chooses to wear the Gilbert Evolution Rugby Boots because of the following reasons:
Why did you choose to wear the Gilbert Evolution Boots?
The Evolution has been designed with a long narrow foot and appreciates the really nice snug fit offered by the performance boot. It’s nice and light and has a great grip on the pitch with the mixture of moulded sole plate and aluminium studs.
Why do you favour the Evolution Boots over the other models in the Gilbert Range?
The other boots I tried had a leather construction, while the Evolution offers a more plastic feel – something which I’m more used to. And as mentioned, the snug fit is the best I found and it helps me perform best during training.
What was your perception of Gilbert Boots before you tried the new range?
My impression of the Gilbert range before the current series was that they were quite heavy and bumpy and one that I might not have chosen, but when I saw the new range of rugby boots I was pleasantly surprised that they were really lightweight boots, which looked great for training and matches.
What is your perception of Gilbert Boots now that you have tried the new range?
The new range of boots are brilliant and the mixture of a synthetic upper and the hybrid studs, make it extra comfy. I liked that I could wear them straight away and they did not require any breaking in – or wearing them to bed before training the next day.
If you’re the kind of player that needs pace and power while playing rugby – choose the Gilbert Evolutions.
